21 Random Questions

I’ve been planning on doing one of those ‘get-to-know-me’ type of posts. My travel story tells you a little bit about me, and so does my Naija Nomads feature here. I’ve answered 20 random questions from the internet, I hope you enjoy reading!

  1. What is your favourite drink?  I like a good chai tea latte, and a Mojito. I do not enjoy drinking water.
  2. What are your favourite songs at the moment? Hillsong: Beautiful Name (Hillsong)  Tiwa Savage: All Over Luis Fonsi: Despacito
  3. Do you have kids? Nope, I’m a ‘kid’ in my head.
  4. When was the last time you cried? I’m actually quite the crier. I think I cried about two weeks ago when the speaker at church was telling her personal story of childhood abuse followed by redemption and healing some decades later.
  5. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? Errr….excuse me but abso-freaking-lutely. Seriously, who would really say no to this question? I’m not everyone’s cup of tea but I’m solid.
  1. What is your eye colour? Brown, baby!
  2. Where were you born? I was born in Lagos, Nigeria. I think you know this, but in case there was any doubt, here you go.
  3. Do you have any siblings? Yes, I do! I’m the youngest of four. I have two sisters and a brother.
  4. How tall are you? This is a touchy topic. Without heels, right? I’m so close to 5’3 that I’ll just leave it at that. Honestly I’m 5’2 and ¾ . Every inch counts! With heels, the sky’s the limit 😉
  5. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up? Lay in bed for a few minutes. Then I grab my phone and check the news, put on uplifting music, or listen to a podcast, or check Instagram (I know, I know, terrible!), or check my WhatsApp for messages from my groups with my friends in the US (there’s almost always gist when I wake up).
  6. Who was your first best friend? Shimi in Nursery school (Pre-school)!! They moved when we were 5 or 6 to Northern Nigeria. We reconnected again maybe a decade ago and have lost touch again.
  1. How do you like to wear your hair: I love my hair best in braids or Senegalese twists.
  1. How many countries have you visited? According to my ‘Been’ app, I’ve visited 32 countries
  1. What would you (or have you) name your children? Now that’s classified information, let the kids come first.
  1. What phone do you have? (iOS v Android?) I actually have both. Android for my US phone and iOS for the UK. I decided to give iOS a try while I’m here but I’ve always been a Samsung girl for the picture quality.
  1. Tell us one of your bad habits! I’m feeling generous so I’ll tell you three! Gosh, I can procrastinate for Africa. I’m often late for social events (but never for work) – blame ‘African time’ for refusing to leave my blood. I’m known to really hate checking voicemail. Please don’t leave me a voicemail, just text or let me call you back.
  1. Do you have any special talents? I can eat anything anywhere in any country and stomach can handle it. Now let’s not jinx it. Does that count?
  1. What do you collect from your travels? Pictures, memories, ornaments, mugs, jewellery, some magnets (but not so much), shot glasses (for friends), shoes, scarves, art….anything. I will do a post soon on some of my souvenirs so far.
  1. City girl, country girl, or suburb girl City girl!
  1. How many kids do you want (if you want kids)? 3 or 4, with 1 or 2 of them being adopted. Any gender mix is fine by me, I’m not picky but I want a bunch of minions to play with, embarrass, to raise with love, grace, and strong values, and hopefully share with the world.
  2. How do you like your steak cooked? Medium-well

There we have it. I really had fun answering many of these questions. What are some random things about you?
